Is Lust really a deadly sin?

If you are happily married, or happily co-habiting, you may find this post morally challenging though hopefully not, as always it’s just Andrew thinking out aloud 🙂 .

(Part2 follows, I have a lady neighbour who owns a dog!)

Can two people be ‘only ever’ just good friends?

During those idle moments when one’s mind tends to wander there’s a question I often ask myself, would I sleep with a unhappily happily married woman?

The movie ‘When Harry Met Sally’ is a real favourite of mine and not because of Meg Ryan’s awesomely faked orgasm, a performance that’s more than a little disturbing to us men! No I’m fascinated by the premise at the story’s heart, the question Billy actually asks Meg namely can two people be ‘just good friends’ without the relationship becoming sexual OR heading that way until intelligence and good sense makes people stop and think! Can you be friends with that ‘special’ person at work without becoming romantically involved?

Yes of course we can however human beings can be reckless stupid and weak (at times) and wishing for relationships you CANNOT have (temptation) is a frisson laced dilemma as old as time itself………….. and listed as a deadly sin for good reasons!!

BTW note I’ve never been adulterous, I’m single!!

Blame men for wandering eyes, we’re the ones with testosterone coursing through our penis veins 🙂 blame us.

The male human animal’s brain is controlled by his penis, deep down everywoman has known this since the day she first began talking to boys, am I wrong? From the day your ‘equipment’ first arrived boys have been transfixed by them and so the dating game ensued.

Women I work alongside will hope a male colleague considers her his equal, respects her as a friend but I’m convinced deep down they’re aware all men will look at their ass admire their boobs though FROM AFAR. On one occasion I’m almost sure’ a secretary caught my eyes wandering down her cleavage (I was standing above whilst she examined my timesheet), I felt embarrassed but did she notice, did she mind? I blame testosterone, it’s a powerful drug altering the direction a guy’s brain operates, and until my dying day I’ll maintain I cannot, WE cannot help ourselves.

Just so as you know we’re 😀 still work friends!

Today #MeToo reinforces Rules that have ALWAYS existed, but note men and women are sexual mammals inhabiting a different kind of jungle, an ‘urban’ jungle, we sit around tables earnestly debating politics, planning future directions, worrying about BREXIT but if the sun’s shining and Amanda’s wearing her low cut print dresses, then I’d propose we men are admiring her ample cleavage, we’re attracted period!

How do I know such facts? For the last thirty five years I’ve worked alongside men in predominantly male working environments, I’ve listened to their misogynistic tales, shovel loads of sexist bs, I’ve been aware several colleagues have had extramarital affairs or are having one!!! I even know a guy who has an illegitimate child where his wife obviously isn’t the mother, I worked in a factory where a guy would lose himself for half an hour and go visit a local Flat for sex? Or so we assumed.

Mind you Ray was a time served electrician so perhaps he was inspecting her appliances?

I’m afraid to say the male human animal’s brain penis is empowered by hormones consequently his life is, yes dick driven! Perhaps these urges go all the way back to caveman days when he’d sow his wild oats, spurred on by the biologically genetic desire to further the human species?

And what of me? SOO many questions in this post.

(To be continued tomorrow)
